    Engine runs rough choppy

I have a 64 nova with a rebuilt 350. It has a mild comp cam and a quadrajet carb. I set the total timing at 34. The engine takes about 6 tries to start the car. Once it gets warmed up to temperature and I go to drive it if I step on the gas from a stop the engine runs choppy. It doesn't feel like it is running with as much power as it should.. Any idea on what to check or adjust?
