Most Power seen with hypereutectic pistons?

Now I have only seen in a few places on the internet that hypereutectic pistons are good for up to 475 horsepower. The thing is I have not seen evidence to back it up. Now I know for a fact these pistons are structurally stronger than forged pistons, but they only have one chance vs. detonation. Now with that said what is the most power have any of you seen reliably with hypereutectic pistons? I'm looking for well above 500 if anyone has experienced it. If not I'm going to make roughly a 600 hp naturally aspirated Pump gas motor and discover how long I can make it last. I will not be worried about detonation because I have a stand alone fuel injection system and will be monitoring even the slightest amounts of knock and fine tuning it along the way. If I must I will tune the vehicle to run on E85 because that will practically eliminate any chances of knock if I can't avoid it on 93 octane.

Where did you hear that? Hypereutectic pistons are still cast pistons--stronger than a straight cast piston--but not a strong as a forged piston.

Yes in fact they are stronger. This is because cast and hypereutectic pistons are a harder material than forged. Much like a grade 8 bolt compared to a grade five. But like the grade 8 bolts since they are harder they are also more brittle and will snap or break when stressed the right way.(like bending the grade 8 or detonation on the casted pistons) but forged on the other hand are more forgiving than cast and hypers like grade five they absorb the energy and last longer under detonation. (although enough detonation kills ultimately every piston) This theory is based on examples and tests documented and proven by a well known engine builder David Visard. But my thoughts are that I have not seen a hyper piston used in a more powerful engine that has knock under control and not a factor of piston selection. Thank you for your input.

if your going to make past 500hp look at forged 4032 good but can be brittle under very hi loads and loose piston to wall skirts fail.. best 2618 will take any thing you throw at it. hyper s are ok for mild builds i used them in my street 454/496 builds with no Nos and other engines .... BUT there heavy to get any strength ring land can bust out(not just end gap) there not in the ballpark as 2618 piston forged pistons
