So it's a mechanical pump on the engine, not electric? I wouldn't change it if you're getting 5psig, and if I did it would just be the generic OEM style pump from the local parts store. Like Dave suggests, I'd try doing a thorough cleaning of the carb, being sure to blow out all the passages, and then put it back together in a clean area, like on the kitchen table if you can get away with it.
