Rod length,pistons and compression height????

Well I have a 400 block bored .030 over (4.155) and I have a 3 inch forged steel crank thats is going in the 400 block to build a 325. What my question is what rod legnth and compression height pistons will work?

I know (1/2 stroke + rod length + desired piston to deck) - deck height= Piston compression height. But what other length rods/pistons do they sell? and who sells them?

I think .025 is the right piston to deck clearance right?

And is it better to have longer rods and shorter compression height pistons or the other way around?

you can get all this stuff off the shelf if you use a 6.250 rod .and a CH of 1.260 JE/Srp makes the 1.260 pistons there may be other . then your looking at custom rods or rods that will cost alot more i had custom rods made and custom pistons i try not to do both just for the added cost. i think your fine with this CH is nice should get nice spacing on the ring pack and rod length

I did one like that years ago for a dirt racer--later big bearing 302 crank, spacer bearings , long rods---it was a pretty lite weight bob weight and went out and set records at all the Chicago area dirt tracks---he could floor it earlier exiting turns without torque spinning wheels and rally wind up down straight

compstar . crower . oliver . howards .bme. grp. the cheaper rods looks like 6.000 long is max . get on the web and start looling could go on E bay buy a set of nascar hand me downs if there s any with the sb. sj or if honda turn the crank to honda that would be cheaper then customs

I was told that the powder metalurgy rods from the LT1 engine are stronger than the factory "PINK" rods. The LT1 engine has a 350 cu. in. and a 265 cu. in version. Question ... Are there 2 different rod lengths? Are the deck height's different ? Or none of the above? Thanks
