Well...The H%ll with it. Long read/rant/vent
My new motor runs GREAT! More power than I'll ever need pulling my boat:eek:
And I kinda like the looks I get when folks hear the cam hitting while I'm loading my boat.:D
Everything was going fine, I got my lock up kit and life was good until the 700r4 took a dump on me. Granted it had 70-80k on it when it died, plus the extra power took it toll on it and maayyybbee a little too much loud petal ;)
I bit the bullet and got a new trans(Very well known Co.) and life was good again............Until this morning. I loaded up the trash and off to the dump I went. On the way home I got behind a "Blue Hair" in a new caddy that just could not keep up with the 50mph speed limit. I waited until I a clear passing zone and NAILED IT!...............It was going to be a true Top Gun moment, "200mph with my hair on fire" the small block roared to life, the trans kicked down and she was pulling HARD! Yeee Haw!!!!!!!
About the time she started pulling hard my head snapped forward with lots of smoke filling the cab, and very sickening sound of metal tearing agaist metal noise, and my new motor pulling against the rev chip(5500) and the very disturbing smell of burning trans fuild. I coasted to the side of the road and watched the caddy carry on down the road at its blistering 35mph. Nothing was on fire thank goodness but the puddle of fliud under the truck told me something was real bad wrong. I crawled under to see what the problem was and it didnt take very long to spot what was wrong......The trans case was broken/cracked/busted (whatever ya wanna call it)8-9inchs right above the shift lever.:confused::whacked::mad:

After a day of talking with trans Co. asking question,reading,calling and asking others on 4x4 boards the Co. I got the 700r4trans from is going to warranty the unit and swap me out a new TH350 w/converter with a convertion output shaft and kit.(thats why I have not called them out. Very good customer service so far.)
"The H*ll with any more 700r4's cause they anit gonna last in a 4x4.
