Need help with coolant lines.

I converted from reverse flow to old school reg coolant flow and I have NO warm air blowing through vents and the truck is NOT running hot 180-190 temp.

Things I checked:
1. Wiring. Made sure all flapper doors are working.
2. Leaks. Found none.
3. Correct coolant level.
4. Flushed lines and all old coolant before installing new motor.

I can hear the flapper door moving when I change the setting on the dash but still no warm air.

As you look @ the heater hose fitting from the front of the truck, the left hose is going to the rad fitting(same as stock) and the right hose is going to fitting on water pump(used to be on rear of intake manifold).
Am I doing something wrong? I have been working on this for 2 days. Any ideas??? :confused: :confused:

that would be my guess , take off one end of hose and run engine when water comes thrugh put hose back on.... probably better to have help with this.

It's going to be process of elimination. Start right at the block and see if water is coming out of one of the two hoses. Generally, the 5/8 hose is the water to the heater and the 1/2 hose is the return (keeps the water in the heater longer) If you have flow out of there, then take the hose off at the heater and see if it is coming through. Some have a shut off valve in line, make sure water goes through that. Water usually goes in the bottom of the heater core and comes out the top, but not always.

If you have water going into the heater, then make sure it is coming out, could be a plugged up heater core. Then simply make sure you have the correct port for water to reenter the block. If you have it hooked up where it is pressurized it will not make the circuit. There is no magic to this system, it just siphons regular coolant off of the engine and diverts it through the heater core. Very simple arrangement.

Matter of fact.........No not really. The one from heater core to rad is hot but the hose from water pump to heater core is not. And they dont seem to build any presure.

what do you mean by converting .. did you change water pumps ? or direction of belts

I changed from a counter clockwise water pump system to a clockwise water pump, like the older small blocks's used.

I'm fairly sure I have to swap the hoses. I'll find out as soon as I get back from Fla.:D

They are. The water pump, or the radiator are both on the same side. You will have to hook one hose the the crossover near the thermostat.
