bad rod bearings? pics inside

I have a built sbc with edelbrock 410hp top end and all forged scat rotating assembly and maybe 200 miles on it.........i need help!!!!! these pics are of the #7 rod bearing, all of the other bearings checked out just fine. The bottom half of bearing looks like crap but there are barely any scratches on inside, the top half of the bearing has no discoloration and has minor scratches on inside. The scratches on both pieces of bearing are hardly deep enough to catch your fingernail. whats going on?

that is odd? I think that's the last bearing to get oil. with only 200 miles why did you have to tear the bottom end back down? and was the cap installed with the notches on the same side?

OIL STAIN, No worry

since the build the car has had 200 miles, and the engine has had lots of downtime in between starts. I'm thinking its from many dry starts. I loosened rod caps to check bearings and thats what i found. My next question is the scratches on inside of bearing are NOT bad at all but not normal. The crank looks fine too. Can i just install a whole new bearing on #7 and run it? I'll never let this thing go a day without being ran once it's all back together.

i tore it down after the 200 miles due to a slight knocking sound, i was scared of making it worse and trashing out my first sbc build.

dude, got you're request, I,m tipsey, be back tomorrow, but for now that kind of wear in 200 miles, and a knock? tells me 1. the cap my have been on wrong! or/and 2. grit in the block,crank,or rod! if it was my motor I would double check everything whoa i'm out

look like trash to me dirt from many things but was the block clean all oil galleys. brush then wash good blown out . crank cleaned well ? brush run thru all oil holes . i deburr all oiling holes and inside has they can have metal hanging off oiling holes when drilled then polish the crank . did you check housing bores on rods for size . this will tell if the rod was round and to size as well if a cap was mix up . did you check for oil clearance on rod bearings . did you mic the crank for size . that bearing in photo looks like it is not past the babit ,but crank may need to be polished. can you catch your nail on the crank journals? if so it will at lest need a polish. you said you dry crank it. was any assembly lube on any thing ? dry cranking is a big NO.. NO with no lube. take off the oil pump cover and look at the pump well. gears. and cover will tell how much junk went thru the oil pump if the pickup and pan where clean off the get go did you find your knock ?
