New Guy Here With a Pre-Oiling Problem

This is my first post. I've been lurking for a while and I think this site is one of the most informative ones I've seen yet.
I really hope someone here can help me with this problem I have.
I just got my 350 assembled and I'm in the process of pre-oiling it. I'm using a tool that blocks off the distributor hole and my pressure gauge reads 55lb.
The problem is, I can't get the oil to the rockers. Some are showing a tiny bit but others are dry. I removed a lifter and felt for pressure in the galley and although I felt some flow, it seemed like it might not be enough. I tried rotating the crank 180deg but it still doesn't help.
I'm also pretty sure I got all of the galley plugs (even the one under the rear main cap) in.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

i dont think you have a problem .. all rockers will not oil untill you crank it up and get some rotation on the engine ..

Solid or hydraulic lifters?

I am assuming hydraulic.

The lifters take a while to bleed off the air trapped inside of them and it really needs to be run to accomplish a complete purging of the air.

Sounds like your doing everything right by pre lubing the oil system.

Make absolutely sure you have the lifters adjusted properly then fire her up.

it took me 20-25 minutes to prime my solid cam motor. other times 5. keep going they will get oil eventually your definatly not hurting anything by priming it.

Are you turning the crank by hand while spinning the pump? My engine guy told me I needed to spin the oil pump, and take a breaker bar/socket and turn the crank slowly until I saw oil at all pushrods. Made it a two person job.

Turn the crank 90 degrees then spin the priming tool for about 2-3 min. Then spin another 90...repeat. Inspect rockers. This has always worked for me.
