need help on a cam for a 355 S.B.

Hi , i haven't been on here for a while but this winter i'am looking for a cam solid flatapped for my 355 it's for my 84 S-10 the S10 weighs 3000P.D.S and has a 12 bolt w/373's the 355 has been bal, blue printed ,tork plated and the crank turned down 10 thounds it has world products S.R. 194-150 they have been ported and at 500 they flow at 223 and i'am running forged flattops pistons 9.81 comp, 700 double pumper holley w/ street dominater 300-38 rhoads lifters 1.5 Right now the cam i'am running is a powermax crane cam 272-284, 454-480lift 216-228dur 112 lobe it runs the quarter at 13.19 at 102.00 i wanna go low 12's or faster it is for street and strip. thanx Harv

i wanted more of a street cam that's too big for what i want, i still drive this on the street and not around the block but i do want a soild flattapped cam.

If you have your Mind set on a Flat Tappet Solid Camshaft . This one would work ok but would really work better with more compression . And a Larger Stall and 4.10 Gear . Larger Valve Heads would also have benefited that 355 Build .

Crower has a cam #03311, 238/242 degrees @ .050; .524/.532 lift; power range: 2250-6000 rpm; redline: 6500 plus; ground on a 107 degree lobe center. This cam should work with your present components, and the Rhoads lifters should tame it somewhat for the street. Ideally, it would probably like a little more compression, but you should notice a big difference in the amount of torque it will produce.

thanx 18436572 that's looks like a good cam too and the other looks good too, what do u think of voodoo cams? i called lunati and they sugested 276-282 solid F.T.

Voodoo cams and CompCams Xtreme Energy cams were both designed by Harold Brookshire, a cam guru extraordinaire. He used to have his own line known as "Ultradyne," and he continues to design custom cams for folks. The Voodoo cams are a later design and are superior to the XE line of cams. They make a little more power and they are not as hard on the valve train.
