can anybody tell me about a chevy 366
The 366 is a big block V-8. It’s also known as the 6.0 (liter). It was built and installed in medium duty trucks and in school buses from the 1960's until the mid 1990's. Bore is 3.935" and stroke is 3.760" and it is a tall deck motor. It is a decent truck engine, but not much hot rod potential.
Use it only if you are plumb out of money and need a motor badly. Just my opinion.
Been told they make a hell on wheels twin turbo engine. But as said$$$$$$$$$.
All the weight and size of a big block with the displacement of a small block. They are a dog in a truck! A "Leverite", leave 'er right where you find 'er!
if free or very cheap ? if heads are good crank and rods .timming cover .tin .head bolts. oil pump drives are HD .i have used the main caps to turn a 454 blocks from two bolt to four bolt main but is alot of work and a line bore . if you want a 427 short deck 9.800 block as the crank is a 3.760 crank so the crank can be used to build a 396 up to a 427 with the right bore size 9.800 deck block .that block is 10.200 and is not the hot deal for any hp build . the 9.800 deck fits better in most cars and a 9.800 deck block
The LS2 is actually 364.1 cu in (and a "killer" engine at 400+HP) - but since kerrykeller3 never came back I guess we'll never know.
