350 truck build. Need a little help.
I am building a 79 chevy scottsdale 4wd truck. It has a 350 in it right now. It will NOT be a daily driver truck. I plan on getting lower gear ( prolly 4.10s) and bigger tires and maybe a bit of a lift. It has a 4 speed manual as well.
right now, I have vortec heads, z28 valve springs, professional products dual plane intake, and a 670 holley truck avenger carb.
I really need some help choosing a cam. I'm pretty sure the 79 block use flat top pistons, so the compression is a lot higher with vortecs (64CC) but I'm not sure how high? Anybody know?
lunati recommended me their 60102 cam, and I am awaiting comps recommendation.
it will be a mud bog and mud drag truck I am hoping.i would like to spin it up to 6000rpm or more as well.
is there anything I'm missing?
thanks for the help!

I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
