Hey Guys- since we're talkin' heads- I have a question- I have a 1958 283 outa' of a Corvette...but..the heads are missing- I have a line on a good set of 350 heads (casting # 462626) for it. Any idea how these heads for a larger V-8 would perform on the lil' 283 ?? Would the compression suffer ??
Any comments would be greatly appreciated as I'm a real novice on this subject...
    Thanx-a-bunch

Most likely the 350 heads won't work because of the small bore of the 283. At best it will shroud the intake valve severely but most likely the intake valve will actually hit the side of the cylinder. And we all know that ain't real good.
