I just ran a combo on the DynoSim this morning for a fellow from this forum.
'96-'99 Gen I 350 block, roller cam, one-piece rear seal.
Scat 3.750" stroke crank, cast steel.
Eagle forged 6.000" rods.
SRP forged pistons, 16cc dish, 1.125" compression height.
Fel-Pro 1003 head gaskets.
Airflow Research aluminum heads, 195cc intake runners, 68cc chambers.
Edelbrock RPM or Weiand Stealth intake mounting 750 vacuum secondaries carb. Have to agree with Glenn about the Quadrajet. Best carb ever designed. Here's the guru if you want to run one. Call him up and tell him what you want it to do and have him build you one....

CompCams 08-423-8 hydraulic roller using 1.5 rockers and installed straight up.

1 3/4" long tube headers.
Bore block 0.030", zero deck at 9.000". Makes a 9.43:1 SCR 383.
RPM HP TQ
2000 147 385
2500 185 389
3000 239 419
3500 304 456
4000 364 479
4500 419 490
5000 457 480
5500 483 461
6000 490 427
6500 456 368
I factored the AFR published head flow numbers by .95 just to make sure and be real about the combo. Makes a nice 490/490 motor. I ran the combo first with Patriot heads, making 425 hp and 460 torque. If you want to make hp and torque, you just have to step up to a good set of heads. That seems to be the key. I would use a 2500/2800 stall converter behind this motor with a good set of gears.Last edited by techinspector1; 05-15-2010 at 02:19 AM.
