length of pushrods
ive noticed several online outfits like jegs and summitracing dont give a specific length of pushrods for engines, is there any particular reason for this? i have a small block out of a 1980 C20, and was looking to replace the pushrods, is it best just to measure them and get a rough estimate of how long they are and just buy the closest length to those? or is there a site that gives the exact specs or does it even matter?

well with rocker arms and cams heads deck milling .head milling all throws off geomerty as well not all roller lifters all do not have the plunger in the same spot needing shorter push rods . BUT the stock size for a 80 sbc is 7.800 if it is stock engine

it is a stock engine, so if im changing over to a set of 1.6 ratio rocker arms, found a set of magnum roller tips from comp cams for dirt cheap, what length would you suggest?

I'd suggest getting the appropriate sized pushrod length checking pushrod (Comp and everybody else sells them) and carefully checking to get the right length pushrods to keep the rocker arm on the valve correctly... Pat has a very good method for checking!!!
