Long Connecting Rod 350??.
OK.I was thinking(yeah that gets me spending money usually) that we all know most guys build a stroked 383.In that was all clearance the rods by grinding the pan rail.No problems there.Years ago John Lingerfelter(sp) also at that time discovered longer connecting rods also helped build torque and was using 5.85" length connecting rods and to date have gone to 6" rods. What is happening with longer connecting rods is it helps the pistons dwell longer at TDC and reduces piston travel. And guys I really don't want to get into a debate about the effect of longer rods. That ship has already sailed on the topic with the proof of the positive effect they have.
Soooo, with the backround above, got me thinking if I didn't want to go the 383 route, but was willing on spending money on a hydro roller engine street driven 350 or 355 with say 6" rods and pistons and heads for a 9.0 to 9.5 compression to increase torque. The question is what do you guys think that would get me??.Kind of a weird question because I have said I am convinced longer rods work, but I don't recall anyone taking this approach and want some input.
Thanks,

I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
