will this combination work?
Nope. Change the pistons.
3.25 stroke compared to 3.48 cretes a different compression height at the piston.
"APPROXIAMATELY" an eigth inch.
why would you de-stroke a 350? get yourself a 350 crank.
:whacked:maybe because he wants a 327,:whacked:
if you are looking for a 327 ci motor, using a 327 crank will require oversized bearings, or bearing spacers to make up for the bore diff.
the 350 has a larger crank main than the 327 did. and you will need the 327 pistons too of course.
1968-69 327's were large journal cranks the small journal was 62-67.A long time ago I saw the Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins book in the late 70's and thought building a 331 would be a cool build,I used a 350 4 bolt block and a '69 large jounal crank and the TRW domed pistons for a 327 365HP Vette. It looked like the engine on the cover when I finished it,Damn BAD motor and wicked fast!
350 crank and 327 flat top pistons=about 6 to 1 comp ratio with the 1/8 inch drop in piston heighth
Sorry Bruce, but you got it backwards---the 350 crank will put the 327 piston out of the hole 1/8 inch
however , you have it correct for what the op said----327 crank, 359 pistons
