307 Decompression Pistons?
I have read that 307's had decompresion pistons?? What is ment by this and how does it effect the engine?

I think what they might have ment was Dished Piston's . But that was started on the 1971 307's . The 1968-70 307's Had Flat Top Pistons 9.1 C/R in Stock Form .Wisdom is acquired by experience, not just by age

They are just a little less compression or dished like tango said.
Of course less compression means less HP.
You could get some pop up pistons and pump up your HP.
I had one of those 307 in a 69 GMC handy Van the engine sat inbetween the front seats.
I had N50's on the rear end and it would pull wheelies.
I loved that thing, it would wind up fast. Kurt
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
