putting together a 406 with scat rotating assembly. I noticed when I put the thrust bearing in that the oil galley hole did not match up entirely with the bearing. The bearings are King and are std. Should I do any grinding to match the hole up? . Thanks for any input.
do it all the time. take a round file to the bearing oil hole and make it match the block i like to lay out the spot with a marker .take off bearing and file to line up deburr the bearing
Hey Pat, I think that is a new world record response time. I figured that i wouldn't be able to finish this engine until Monday...now i can at least do some grinding and install the crank tonight. Now you have an idea of what my social life is on a sat night. Chas'n skirts is always secondary to assembling an engine. Thanks dude!!!!
well you got a response so you know what my social life is like :3dSMILE: hold the bearing with back side facing you when you file it. if you slip you will not hit the finsh side of the bearing .do not use a air grinder to open it up .the hot metal will stick to the babbitt .check your oil clearance on the thust i would not be shock that its pass .004+ with a king H bearingQuote:
