:)hi ya'll ; Does a 283 sbc have the typical 7/16 20 tpi balancer bolt ? The crank I have had a bolt broke off in the snout , so I drilled it out 25/64 and tapped it 7/16 just wandering if thats the right size ? not that it really makes any difference now.
i never seen a 283 with a damper bolt ? guys drill and tap them so you do not beat the hell out of the damper to get it on. when tap out you can used the tool to put the damper on yes sbc is 7/16 fine and bbc is 1/2 fine

thanks buds, so they did'nt have a bolt from the factory , how then ? pressed or hammered on?
