305 tpi

Guys
I have an 305 tpi motor out of a 87 camero . It has all that computor carb on it that I have no idea how to trouble shoot. My current problem is that when the motor comes up to running temp it starts running rough and will stall out an will not start till it cools down. Ive been told of several possible problems all involving the cpu wiring . Which by the way i have no diagrams for ( Im trying to finish this car in memeroy of a buddy who passed away before he got it done) So I dont have alot more info on it.
So my next option is to pull the tpi intake and put a carb intake on it . My first question is how do I find out what intake I will need ...before tearing it apart . Im being told of two stlyes of intake ,one with the bolts going in straight and one with the bolts goping in on an angle.Is this info correct ??
My second question is what else will I need to do to do this switch??

Hello Jeff, Im Josh from Amarillo. I cannot be sure about which intake to get,but I would check on the edelbrock performer for 87 to 95 fulie heads. I bet you could talk to a parts rep. to be sure though.

I believe 87 and later TPI intakes have the "straight" bolt hole on the camaros.

Do you have TPI (Tuned Port Injection, looks like a snorkle with intake on the front) or TBI (Throttle Body Injection, Looks like a carb)?
