check plugs, ( correct cap + good electrode ) check wires, cap & rotor is always a good start.

Are you sure it's a 350? Guys will blow up the original mill and stuff in a wrecking yard special, like a 305 or whatever.

Start with the basics. Warm the motor, pull all spark plugs, wire the throttle blades wide open, disable the coil and do a compression test on all cylinders.

thanks, im not sure if its a 350 no. how can i tell? what do i look for?

maybe its suppose to be dead dead slow? but like i say the engine starts first time on the buttom and revs like thunder

ive never had a 350...onli a 3rd gen 305 but that was faster!!!!

surley there is a problem somewhere.

i will do a compresion test but the engine sounds sweet.

Judging by the photo on ebay, you may want to check the air filter. It could be clogged. The other thing is, it looks too small. 14" x 2" would be the minimum I would use on any Chevy V8 and I'd prefer 14" x 4" if I could fit it under the hood.
