check plugs, ( correct cap + good electrode ) check wires, cap & rotor is always a good start..
Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

Are you sure it's a 350? Guys will blow up the original mill and stuff in a wrecking yard special, like a 305 or whatever.

Start with the basics. Warm the motor, pull all spark plugs, wire the throttle blades wide open, disable the coil and do a compression test on all cylinders.

Judging by the photo on ebay, you may want to check the air filter. It could be clogged. The other thing is, it looks too small. 14" x 2" would be the minimum I would use on any Chevy V8 and I'd prefer 14" x 4" if I could fit it under the hood.
Dammit, another good ol boy gone. Condolence to the family. RIP Mike
