Looking for a new MSD box, I see they have the 6AL in both Digital and Analog.... Anybody have some thoughts on which is better with a carb engine running a crank trigger ignition????

The 6420 (6AL) is the analog unit and is a good unit to run on the carbed setup.
The 6520 (Digital-6) has extra bells and whistles. You'll see no performance or reliability difference between the two on your setup.
Thanks Nitro....figured that was about it, just wondered if I was missing something.
I've always had better reliability from the Mallory HyFire units, and, their 6AL has an adjustable rev limiter with no chips required.
Also, they're usually a little cheaper!!
The Mallory crank trigger units look a bit easier to adjust---wondering if you've ever used one and how well they operate??? Only thing I've noticed is the Mallory crank trigger distributors are a bit taller then the MSD's--vertical clearance is one of the issues.....
The digital(6AL-2) unit has a higher spark output and they draw less current than the analog(6AL) unit. That said, I run the analog box and never had any issues....
