    Valve Train Questions

     



    Moving on to the next step of my 400 rebuild is the valve train,looking to buy springs, retainers, locks as a kit, my cam will be a crane energizer 228 480 lift, my question is will a 500 lift spring work or will i need a 550 lift and what degre locks do i use 7 or 10. Need a good budgit minded kit. THANKS ROB

    yeah, usually the big manufacturers have free tech lines to answer questions. you can even get a second opinion if you call comp cams or any other valve train company

    You just got some good advice . Thats the way to go. Where are you in your rebuild ? What rods are You using?

    Crank, pistons and oil pump are in, using stock rods
