    I paid a couple hundred for my 400sb. It was complete carb to pan. Could have used it as is, but not enough hp for me. I would say that's too much for even the combo.

    Why not take the EZ way and drop a 69-70 455 Buick in, that would annillate that small block SBC.

    just so happens i found a 74 buick 455 w/3spd auto tranny running in a 48 chevy pickup for $500 for the pair. only prob is there 5 hours away from me in eagle lake maine almost into canada. sounds like a road trip is in my future. guess im going big block!!!

    This is any interesting quote for the amount of money you would have in a bb buick you can build a great running 400-421 sb chevy and run circles around it plus its lighter and better availabity of parts, rods heads alumin ecs. dont get me wrong i love a bb buick and have driven a few strong ones but nothing beats a tourqy sb that spins to the moon.
    Stock whole different story buick would get the job done nicely over a small hp 400
