mixing up the head bolts
i've got an 89 camaro 350. broke a rocker stud and pulled the head. lined up the bolts as i took them out. after getting it back together the motor overheats after about a half hour. the coolant overflow bottle fills almost to the top and won't drain back to the radiator. i changed the radiator cap, no luck. there's a slow gurgle after i shut the motor off but the bottle level stays the same. is it possible i mixed up the head bolts and blocked a coolant passage in the block? there's 2 bolts shorter than the others. can anyone advise of where those 2 go in the head. maybe i just need to retorque the head bolts. any help is apprecciated. thanx, rick
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
