    need help routing of fuel line on engine

     



    Should I stay tucked in close to carb (and heat) or should I route up in the air and by away from heat but really visible?
    Close to carb base looks good but too much heat?

    I prefer to choose function over aesthetics when possible.
    .
    Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.

    pictures of 350 and second fuel line

     



    I kinked this one on the last bend so before I make another, I could use some suggestions : keep it tucked in or route away from heat?

    Thanks Denny, the bends look hand bent. I guess I am trying not to kink so the bends look hand bent. My son said the same things try to be parallel with the the engine centerline and hold level back to back. I will try to do better by checking progress more times per bend.tc

    That is okay, I really am new to bending. I'll attach a new line picture tonight. This latest one might be as good as I can get. It really takes some practice doing the bending. 3/8 is harder to do than smaller?

    Here is the latest pic of last week's new tubing bend. Since I had a model of what to do and what not to do, it went pretty smooth. Also, I used a vice ti hold the bender which allowed me to have two hands on the bender and watch the relationship from one bend to the next (easy to go the wrong way)

    You can't see from this angle, I stayed half way betwween carb and carb throttle linkage tight but not touch anything.

    If you wanted to, you could always slit a rubber hose and slide it over the line to further insulate it from the block. clear tubing would probably look pretty good.

    Thanks Denny, Firebird, and tecinspect.
    Having trouble uploading pictures. Getting error message
    pictures. Here is the final bend. I like the slit rubber insulator idea.
    Helps with my main theme colors (black and cast with a touch of red).
