the aluminum rods have gone up in quality, but they still do stretch....
Used the Howards aluminum rods in our fuel motors----I guess they worked ok-NHRA national and world records--one of first cars into 5s
used Venolia and Childs&Albert in my prostocker--guess they worked OK-- one of first PS in 7s
However---after leaving my PS engine sit for a few years, I found several rods cracked along the outer edge of the threaded portion of the beam
Back in those days, alum rods were all that was available in various lengths and sizes----these days you can get about any sixe/length/pin bore rod you want in a goog material and they are smaller so take less clearancing on the big end---
I remember once getting a set of Ansen rods for our 392 that the big end was so large they wouldn't go thru the cylinder bore

the howard steel rods or there powder rods I beams they are ligther then H beams if that what your looking for. the china stuff all the H beam rods are made in china but the dyers and carrillo .manley rods Hbeams are china to i have seen more engine fail from alum rods breaking then steel
why not look in to buying at set of nascar rods off e bay and have the crank ground to the honda rod .alot of them are using this and some of the rods are new you would need a set of custom pistons???
all i want to do is update rods, i have stock rods, next year its going to be a roller camw itha tunnel ram. id like to just get better rods, if i ahve to i will go with olivers.
well if you have deep pockets ? why not go to a carrillo A beam or a set of howards sport rods or crowers they would hold up fine and would be 1/2 the price ?
i have heard from someone else about crowers i think they were 550 horse rated for 640 bucks ?
crower makes more then them i would say they make more then any one .i think they build over 12 types of rod designs if you want more then 550hp at 8000 then you would have to look in a billet rod from themQuote:

yes they ok i have used them there ultimate rods but i would look at there powder rods like i said there very good or just buy the H beam with a set of ARP cap screws in them there 1/2 the price but he will not buy import and will take 600 hp ez
