Yes it would because the valves wouldn't close at the right time
If you'll bless us with more information, like static compression ratio, camshaft timing figures, whether or not you installed the cam straight up, advanced or retarded and the manifold vacuum you're reading, we may be able to nail down the problem for you. It could be as simple as having used too much cam duration in your build for the available compression ratio.
However, my experience on this board tells me that we'll never hear from you again. :eek:
