Well I bought a motor today and was wondering if there was any way to identify what it is exactly without tearing it down and measuring the bore and stroke. It has the following casting numbers:
T0913HF
and also
18D108178
these numbers are on the front passenger side right in front of the head (as shown in the second picture).
also can anyone identify these heads?

HF translates to any of these......
HF 1965 327 h/p 300 4 Vette
HF 1966 327 Powerglide, A.I.R. 275 4 full size
HF 1969 350 Powerglide 275 2 A F X
HF 1978 350 LM1 170 4 Firebird
It seems to have the later....after 68 heads on it, so I am guessing the last 2....more likely the 78
it has said to be a corvette motor and a 327... but I really don't trust people these days. What about the heads?
What is the Casting # on the Driver side rear of the Block ? Also that Casting Mark on that Head Looks like a #991 or #642 Small Valve 1.72/1.50 Head 73-76cc Chamber ? What # is on them Cylinder Heads ?
you guys think i would be able to measure the bore and stroke just from the bottom by popping off the oil pan? I really don't want to buy head gaskets and intake gaskets as this is a very low dollar build.

That is a 1968 327 Large Journal Crank Block with 2 Bolt mains Like all 327s Where . But the Heads are not 327 Heads . Get the Casting # off one of them . Pull a Valve cover you can See it Easy .
heads are casting number3998991. Which from what I can tell are small valves with big combustion chambers. I wish they were something different, but oh well.
Is there any upsides at all to these heads?
The #991 Casting heads 1972-73 307/350 75cc Chamber Used on Trucks Heavy casting But the ones I have seen had 1.72in / 1.50ex Valves . I Like the #993 Heads Better 1972-73 They Have 1.94in / 1.50ex Valves and the same 75cc Chamber Size . That 327 Short Block can be used to Build a Nice Street Engine .
