350 problem
i recently decided to make some upgrades to my 350 out of my 69 camaro. i replaced the intake with an edelbrock airgap intake, i put on some ceramic hooker headers going out to american thunder flows...and put in an alluminum radiator. i also converted the fuel line to a non-hard line (rubber hose). i am still runnin the engine with the 650 quadrajet which is pretty dirty and probably hasnt been rebuilt in a while, and i ama also stillr unning a mechanical fuel pump. the timing seems to be ok but i cant get the car to stay at idle...i have to rev the engine to keep it running. i was wondering if you thought this was a fuel pump/carb problem, or something else. anybody have any ideas? please let me know

You mean you put all that dough into the intake and didn't rebuild the carb.????......Come on.!!!!.....:whacked: :whacked: :whacked:

i have to agree with streets check for a vacuum leak
get a can of b12 and start spraying...invest in some hoses and or clamps peace...

re
Question....why did you put rubber hose on instead of hard line? second, check for vacum leak. If thats not the problem im sure your motor now has different needs for gasoline. have you tried tuning the carb at all? Playing with the metering rods? Id say ditch the quadrajet for a road demon, i think theyre only around 300 bucks.

and for 542 bucks u can get a predator or for 442 you can get a racing version, but if he's complaining about the idle he would not want the racing version ( although it's legal ) because, it is not callibrated for idle just W.O.T

Hey Streets, what is a real price on a Predator these days, gonna need a pair for the Ranchero eventually. Thanks/.

re
why in the world would you put an all out race carb on a very mild street motor? why a predator arent those monster truck carbs?
-
I got that price out of Jegs. Also novaguy73; I never said u would want 2 put a racing carb on a street engine but it is possible, Predator carbs are carbs that calibrate themselves by the air mass , they go from 390 ( i belive ) to 930 cfm, they come in a street version and a racing version. I do belive that the racing version is used on the 572's in Monster trucks but, those are calibrated from the factory for exotic fuels ( n20, alki... ).
