    This opens a whole can of worms.

    What octane you planning to run? What's your compression ratio? How much boost? What heads are on it? Have the heads been ported or had the chambers reworked? What are the specs on the cam?

    All these have to be figured in to see if if an intercooler (really it's an aftercooler) will be necessary for your application. Aftercooling is ALWAYS beneficial but not always necessary.
