    Canfield Heads

I have a Chevy 357" with 462 heads/ 2.02 valves, Comp 280 cam with 1.6 rockers. I bought a set of Canfield heads with of all things, 2.02 valves. They are usually 2.05 or 2.08. They have been ported big time professionally. Nice job. My question is to put them on my engine or sell them. I would think I'd pick up some higher end jump with the port job and still be ok at the bottom end because of the 2.02's. They would have to be better than the smaller runner 462's, but I have no experience with Canfields or aluminum hedas for that matter. If the general consensus is I'm better off with the 462's, I'll keep em up for sale. Any input would be appreciated.

Weight and intended use of vehicle are the first questions that come to mind.

I.M.O.,I would try and look for heads in the 180 cc to 190 cc area.
The 200 cc Canfields may be a little large for your application but if they are 200 cc's I would just try them.
If they are 215's or 220's I would think twice before you run them.

Ya know, thats what I ws thinking. I've had these heads for sale for awhile, asking only $600 for the pair and NOBODYS bought them. If they don't go this week, I'm putting the darn things on. They look too nice sitting there, with that fresh valve job. I hear em calling....put me on...put me on...

Pat I 've talked to some people lately from the Midland area on my s10 site and I told them if they weren't looking you up for work and advice they were JUST PLAIN WRONG! If I was that close to your shop I'd be over there sweeping floors for free just to get a little "fly on the wall" motor advice! (that was some major suckin up wasn't it!)
