    Oil Leak

I got my Nova out get some miles on new 355. When got home passenger side inner fender covered in oil. It's sprayed oil from some where. I change fuel pump and plate gasket checked bolts [fuel pump passage ] in front block. Cleaned everything up went for ride and oil is back on inner fender well. It's almost quart low. When engine was run on stand twice did'nt leak drop of oil. Seem to do it only when you got your foot in it. Had this car on jack stands running , even break torque it no oil. Only front block blowing back on bottom car.

oil leak on the pan gasket maybe.... Might not show up idling, not enough of the oil sloshing around in the pan...

What do you have for breathers or PCV valve? Could be blow-by pushing oil out past a gasket.

When you have your foot in it is when the breather comes into play, and that could be the root of your problem. At this point you may now need to change a gasket or two because of it....

Which side is your dipstick on? If crankcase pressure is building under load it can push the dip stick up and spew oil out the tube.

    Oil Pan

Ceh383 , Can you use your stock pan bolts or do they need be longer. I have Felpro 1885 coming Monday. Thin front seal for 1969 block.

Denny , Had trouble with after market oil pan fitting around timing cover , tried pull down little more. Came back to bite me on my a........... Going back to use original pan. Sandblasted cleaned up nice.

I would think stock length bolts would work, the gasket doesn't look that much thicker. I use studs on mine, it's just easier.
