Zoomies
I've been looking for a set of these for my model T I'm building with a SBC and I can't find them anywhere. Any ideas or comments on them, I plan to baffel them.
(oops that didn't work) there's a picture on Henry's post #7 about half way down:

Those are Sanderson zoomies. Here is their website:

One of our members, T42 has them on his T coupe. I like them a lot. :)

I was looking at some old posts but I couldn't figure out who made them. Do they come with baffela or do I have to find some Harley parts for them. If so are they still too loud, I can't figure out what else would fit and look that cool.
Okay I read the link and it said they have baffles, do they work??? And how exactly do I measure them??

Zoomies are loud, the baffles don't do much to quiet them down.... With absolutedly no back pressure or scavenging their best use is as a cop magnet.....

Sorry Dave, I didn't mean to make you repeat yourself:LOL: . I see you said that in a couple of other posts. I wasn't sure you meant with the baffles.
I might have to figure something else out:( . Pretty tight for space, I wouldn't be able to run a full exhaust system.
At least I know where to get them now, thanks Don.

Why not a regular set of roadster headers with the big outsider mufflers????

Yeah, those are the "sprint" design tubes, the regular roadster style are unequal length tubes, but come straight out from the engine and drop down. Depends on the look you want....
Check out Speedway Motors, they used to offer some different designs and different length from the heads to turn down.... I think they even still sell them in kit form so you can weld them up and have them painter or coated as you like, probably be able to save a buck or two on them in kit form, too.

At Billetproof this past weekend a lot of cars had zoomies and open exhaust of one type or another (me included :D ) I had one member with a model A coupe powered by a Hemi start it up so I could hear how loud his zoomies are. They were on the edge, and not baffled, but he says he hasn't had any problems with the law yet.
I put my baffles back in mine tonight over my Son's protests, and they really do quiet the Limefires I have down a lot. I just didn't want to risk a ticket running open headers around town. On the way to Billetproof I passed a lot of cops and a lot blew by me, luckily I didn't even get a second glance. As it is, my car is breaking about 15 laws just standing still.
I think the baffles Sanderson sells would probably knock the sound down a lot.

I'll have to keep looking. I put drag pipes on my cb750 chopper and they were loud as H@LL, I put in baffles but it sounds choked now. That's another project though:) .

Might also want to check and see what the law sez.... On this side of the line a lot of states require the exhaust to exit behind the driver's compartment.... Good old South Dakota is about as lax on cars as any state and they won't allow zoomies on the street. If you're buying a set just to put on the car at shows, they're fine. Sure takes the fun out of a road trip or Saturday night cruise when you get sent home with a repair ticket in hand. Some cops turn their heads but the wrong cop on the wrong day can ruin your whole day..... I just choose to not go out looking for cop problems with something as obvious as a set of weedburners.... I'd much rather spend money on the car then fines and court costs.........
A bit of research now can save you a lot of grief later.....

Zoomies won't pass state inspection where I live.

Zoomies are cool but crazy loud.
The setup I have works but had to use baffels as well.
You go down the road for about 2 hours and it still drives you nut with the baffels.
I do have short turn outs I can put ob for local cruises in about 5 minutes but have been stopped 3 times. Each time they say to the cruise and home and let me go
They are sanderson

One other note....not sure about the T but on the '32 sprint style headers I would hit my tire if turning to sharp so I switched

I like them!
I made my own, I bought baffles that are for auto zoomies, not ones for bikes (larger ID tubes), I can't remember who I got them from. I mail ordered them, I'll have to look through my stuff, to find out who, and how much the baffles were.
I will make the next ones I need, they are simple. But I have been making mufflers for 2.0 to 7.3 cc motors for my R/C airplanes for years, there is few different ways to change sound waves. We have to pass a db limit for sound also.
