General Kinetics Cam
Can anyone help me out ?
I have a general kinetics cam with the #C1H284R. It was with a 327 chevy engine i picked up.I cannot find any info on this cam. I was told it was comparible to the stock 300 hp cam. I would like a little more precise info as to the lift and duration @ .050 Does anyone have an old G.K. book or can someone help me out? THANKS KEN

Call My Dad at 931-762-3977 after 4PM central time.. He knows lot about the GK cams. He also still have the old catalog.

I use to run them in the early 80s . They were a Budget Camshaft . But they did have some good grinds .

went down there once over 20 years what a trip that was at one time they did make some good cams i do not think they did much thereIrish Diplomacy ..the ability to tell someone to go to Hell ,,So that they will look forward to to the trip

Is your cam a Hyd or a roller?
The spec. on Hyd. cam is.
IN 214 @.050 .448 Lift
Ex 224 @.050 .465 Lift Ground On 112° lobe center
Power range 1500-5800 High Performance Street, Noticeable Idle

The cam is a hyd. cam. Thanks alot for the info.
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
