Well after going to the local machine shop to drop off my dads heads and B.S.ing with the guys there about there proctject they had got done and were going to run this spring. Come to find out they made a modern 302 chev You know how you can buy main bearing shims to put a 350 or 327 crank into a 400 block? well these guys did just that but made shims to put a small journal 283 crank into a large journal 350 block ok try to fallow me on this and read carfully they took 2 large journal main caps and installed sleeves (or dowls) into the caps and using nuts and bolts so you can pull it apart and put it back together in the same exact spot every time. then they trued it to large journal main spec making the hole round. now you have a jig then they installed used large journal main bearings into the jig and machine them to a small journal main spec & cut the sides off the 1 large journal thrust bearing then file notches for the small journal main bearings you now have shims to put into a large journal block to put in a small journal 283 or 327 crank into But the motor they had put together is cool its a late 80's early 90's TBI 350 1 peace rear main seal block they used their shims they made also a main seal adaptor to use a 2 peace seal in a 1 peace seal block with Dart 64cc heads and a duel quad Edelbrock intake with 2 Edelbrock carbs and as a all roller motor
