It would be nice if you had some pictures of the engine test stand build up. I have a 307 from a 76 Nova on the floor, it was running when I pulled it out but was a smoker.Quote:

Looks GREAT! And now your son will be a hot rodder for life. What a great father/son project. I get unmeasurable amounts of pleasure working on my truck with my 17 yr old beside me. I can only imagine how much closer the two of you are after a project like that. Congratulations again, Keith
We finally got the engine finished, just in time to break it in and load it on a trailer to take to my sons school. He fired it up for the teachers and then did a powerpoint presentation on what he learned. He thinks that it went well, though he doesn't have a grade on it yet, his judges were all male teachers and they all wanted a chance to rev it up. His classmates didn't get to see it, but they could hear it. We'll probably leave it set up for awhile, I hate to tear it down after all that work, we need to find something to drop it into.
This was my first experience with stainless headers and was supprised at how cherry red they got during break in. Now they are all different colors, I'll have to do some polishing before they go into my Camaro.
Here are some more pictures on the build.
A couple more pictures,
in the middle of his project he also became an Eagle Scout,
we're pretty proud of him!
Long hair and all! (now I sound like my dad talking about me back in the 70s)
Ken
Congrats!:D This looks like a great father son project. I like the colors you went with on the build up!
Impressive project! Even more impressive kid.............and the family that shaped him.
Tell him congratulations from an old (very) Eagle Scout!

stovens,
I thought I had all bottles out of the photos, good thing the school didn't notice, I was going to have him add the cost of the many cases of beer it took into his expenses but thought better of it.
