LT1 in hot rod.
Im switching the old 350 for a -95 LT1 engine from a Camaro Z28.
First im having some problem with the mounting brackets. Should i mount the passenger side bracket with the bolt for the ac compressor? Otherwise the brackets wont align.
I would really want to remove the ac pump and also move the gen to another place. Otherwise i wont be able to use the hood sides. Is there any kits i can buy.
Hope you understand what i mean and my language... The car is a -31 Plymouth coupe.
Thanks!
Daniel

Dan,
Theres a really good article on the LT1 in the January issue of Car Craft, it should help answer your questions and give you a lot of good info.

street & performance is a good source for brackets to switch around accessories (and anything else needed for putting an LTX/LSX in anything. Thier parts seem to be a little pricey though, but worth a shot since they seem to have it all figured out. they also have an LT1 dvd they sent me free that has some good useful information.

Bill's Hot Rods in Covina, CA makes the best steel brackets I have seen. I have a set for my '32, and I can tell you they are works of art. He is very nice to deal with and has a lot of different combinations for Chevy heads. You can call him at 626-332-1915. Last I knew, he did not have a website.

Try Alan Grove's Parts for great steel brackets.
