    Guideplates damn guideplates

Now I removed the guideplates and left the studs. The rockers are perpendicular to the valvecover rail but now don't sit centered over the valvestem. I didnt notice this before... but is it ok to have the rockers at alittle bit of an angle? Both the intake and exhaust are toed-out, but are centered over the 'stem. Won't this put a side load on the pushrod?

you need the guild plates to hold rocker track over the the valve stem .with out they will track right off the valve stem less the heads have not been drilled out for guild plates.buy a set of adjustable guild plates the rockers can run on abit of a angle as long as the tip of the rocker arm is tracking on the center line of valve stem not off the stem and moving over to the retainers. did you check your mild lift for the right push rod length as well? this stuff you can not rush .less you like to turn good stuff in to junk
