Computer reflashing?
I found a 2002 Suburban Vortec V8 engine, transmission, transfer case, computer and wiring harness that I want to install in my two wheel drive 1953 Chevy pickup.
I have a 1969 Camaro 350 Chevy engine I rebuilt for the truck. I installed Vortec heads and other quality parts and I also rebuilt a 700R4 for the truck. The new engine is very reasonable, has less than 30,000 miles and I am very tempted to install it.
What problems might I encounter? Will I have to reflash the computer if I don't use the transfer case? How difficult is it to not use the transfer case?(drive shaft issues notwithstanding)
I can repair anything on an older engine but I know the reliability factor of the newer ones is very high.
Any suggestions? I would appreciate any answers.

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
