SBC Head gasket question
I am building a SBC with Edelbrock aluminum heads and intake.
I noticed the head gasket between the 3/5 and 4/6 cylinders has small (1/8") holes, but the block and heads water channels have much larger holes (1").
Can I drill out the head gasket to match the heads/block? I never drive my car in the winter so I would like to keep it as cool as possible.

Just put it on it won't effect it at all.

You are not by chance talking about the "steam holes" in a 400 SBC head gasket.

Yes, they are the small holes that line up with the water channels on a SBC (I have a photo on my "See Photos")

those holes should stay like that, they're supposed to slow the water down to allow more heat transfer before getting back to the radiatorjust because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day
