I have a set of the old double hump fuelie heads on my 350 (1968 variety) and while they are nice to look at and talk about, I would just as soon have a nice set of modern cast iron heads. My car was built the way that it is a long time ago (1989-90) and was previously used for racing before being converted to a street rod. Car is no longer raced, so it is all nice nostalgia with the fuelie heads, the Torker I intake, and the Cal Custom valve covers. Traditional rod, yeah, for the most part. Can it run.... sure, but not much anymore. Now in retirement and used mostly just for cruising.
$1,000 sounds to me like a total rip off by someone looking to make a fast buck. If you are not into nostalgia, look elsewhere.Bob
