Im building a 383 and was wondering how much difference a standard deck height from a zero deck height makes in compression points. Most sellers of rotating assemblies say a number. For example some say the compression is 9.7 with 64cc heads. But is that with standard deck height? I basically wanna run about 10.5 compression with my world 64cc heads but am contemplating some flattops or some dished pistons. Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Please, Oh Please, go back on this site a review some thread posts these excellent builders on this site have discussed. Hit the forum button on the leftside of the page and browse. Deck height does more for flame travel and combustion than it does compression. It does effect compression in a moderate porportion and a lot of good builders use that formula to complete their build according to what they wish to achieve for squish and total compression etc. Please do a bit more digging here on this site and find the way you want to go to get those numbers you requested.
