400sbc stock, cam?
Stock 400 SBC.
Anybody know what the biggest lift cam is that will work with stock heads.
I'm looking at the 69 corvette 350hp cam .450/.460 lift.
Looking for any street cam suggestions.
Thanks

I ran an old Isky 30/30 in a stock 400 and the lift on it is 448/448. I would change the valve springs though.Ken Thomas

Good idea NTF, remember the 30-30 is now available in hydraulic and does the same job. Also in a mechanical with less lash to keep the clatter and readjustment to a minimal. Don't be afraid to shop and research. these people are here to help with very good suggestions and ideas.

All engines are different. Things that could affect the interference of parts with any particular cam lift are the deck height of the block, whether or not it has been decked, if the heads have been milled, if the valves have been sunk in the heads, true rocker ratio, head gasket thickness, piston deck height, etc., etc.
