Need some different input on what heads are best for my 305. So many different ones out there that it's tough to decide. I'm looking for about another 30-40 HP. Mine are stock but have been ported

I'm thinking GM performance head meant for a 305. Most other heads have chambers starting at 64cc and working up from there. Most 305 heads are in the55to 58cc range. Hope this helps, Hank
What is the max. rpm's you are going to turn the engine?Quote:

I was surfing around for you and came across this build. It looks like the intake runners are a little large, but it made good power and wasn't that far off the mark with max torque at 4,500.

Thanks Erik, yeah, I use the rule of thumb cubic inches times 0.5 for intake runner volume for a basic street motor.
My 305 is a 303 HP engine and with better heads I know I can improve on that even with the stock ones ported. Max. rev is 5500 rpm. Overbore is .060 and its got a mild cam of 218/224 @.050. Dave thats an interesting article. Will look into that further. Thanks all for your input.
