Spark Plugs
Hi Room - Have a 350/330 SBC crate motor - vortec heads, etc. What reach and heatrange of spark plugs are recommended for this motor? And what brands are on top these days? Also what oil pressure sending unit do i ask for? I've purchased 2 already and they are multi-wire units. The Highway 21 wiring kit I have calls for a single wire unit. Parts stores don't know what i'm talking about! Many Thanks for the help,Charlyg!

If your engine is a 12496968 assembly with Vortec heads,
the thing came with AC R44TS plugs.

Whatever brand your guages are should have the oil sender.www.adoptafriendforlife.org

It's typical for an oil sender to use one wire, which is the positive and let the chassis ground (a BIG invisible wire) complete the circuit.

I just went to my auto parts store and bought whichever plug was stock in a 97 (right in the middle of the years the Vortecs were offered) Chevy pickup. My engine is pretty much a 330 ho but with a flat tappet cam of slightly increased duration. The plugs are almost perfect. One step colder would also work. The insulators come out white with a black spot where the side electrode covers them. They are clean, but don't appear too hot.

It would be nice if this up and down crap would cease.
