For the CHR "steering committee"

I have a new name for Pat, Eric, Dave, Tech, and few of the other guys, collectively around here. I refer to them as the "steering committee", because they will steer you in the right direction MOST of the time. :LOL: I'm right in the middle of getting the parts for this 357 together, and the machining is done, so I can get it on the engine stand this weekend. So looking to get steered in the right direction, one more time, I have this to work with, tell me where I need to zig or zag. Eric I'll get with ya on the rods.

Well thanks, I think..... I don't like the hypereutectic pistons, had a couple sets come apart on me but then I sometimes tend to abuse them..... I prefer laying out the extra $$$$$ and using forged pistons.... Seems like a lot of duration to me, what trans and gears are you using behind it???? A lot of the guys are a whole lot better then me on cam selection, though....

You really don't have enough compression for the cam.
Take about 20 degree's off the cam at .050 and you will be much better off.
I would try a 650 vac. sec. Speed Demon.
I am also not a big fan of the hyper. pistons.
Run it fat enough and keep it from "rattling" and you should be o.k.

This is all the cam I'd use in that motor with the SCR at 9.77. It's ground on 110 LDA and closes the intake at 36 ABDC for a DCR of 8.5......be sure to build the motor with a squish of 0.035" to 0.040" so it will run on pump gas. Juggle the deck height with the gasket thickness to get there. I like the KB hypers because of the way the dish is offset on them. The crown provides an excellent mating surface with the flat underside of the head for a good squish pad. Use 1.6 rockers on both intake and exhaust if you want, for a valve lift of 0.498".
