Fuel injecting a 350

I have a 1983 Chevy 1500 with a carburated 350. What all do I need to make it fuel injected and how much will it cost do you think?

Are you planning on going an aftermarket setup or injection from a newer chevy? Aftermarket will cost you a little over $2000 probably, plus installation unless you tackle it yourself. If you wanted something from say a '87 or newer chevy, I'd probably go with a TPI setup over the TBI. TPI came in camaro's and corvette's and are a lot better if you ever plan on doing mods to the engine. TBI is the fuel injection that looks like a carburator with injectors in it. You can't do too many mods to the engine because the older design computer won't compensate for it.

You may want to check into smog regulations before you attempt this... I live in California and if you put a newer engine in your car they require ALL smog parts from the newer vehicle to be in your older vehicle even if the older vehicle didn't have it. They are very strict on this. You may want to find a Pick N' Pull and take the whole engine, computer, harness, injection, and everything connected to it.
