1.94 1.6's world work good 2.02 1.6's even better but they are getting $$$

1.94's don't work as good as you might think on a 283. The cylinder walls shroud the valves a bit. 283 hi-po heads have smaller valves with big ports, seem to make as much power as the big 'uns.
The 350 horse 327 cam is a good one, I've had them in 283, 327 and 350 engines.

You may be better off with some 305 heads or aftermarket 305 heads (World Products 305 Torquer heads) as the cylinder walls will not shroud the valves and create those kinds of combustion problems. You can pocket port 305 heads and they will perform much better than the old 327 heads.
