oil burner-final update
hey guys - for those who remember my story, we rebuilt the motor a third time, no luck, still burned the same amount of oil. We found a place in another town to take on the challenge of finding the problem. We gave them the engine assembled so they could take it apart and analize it for themselfs.
They could not find nothing wrong! Although they were reluctant to rebuild it for us cause of our problem, they went ahead and rebuilt it. Since we were nearing .003 on piston to cylinder, they bored it out to .060. They even use the same brand of parts we used, pistons, rings, gaskets, etc. We got it back and guess what, it smoked like before!, but after the break in, we were running the engine to tune it a bit before a drive, and guess what happened?
It stopped smoking-totally, and at 160 miles later is, so far, smoke free! I'll never know what it was, but wish I did, for it totally didn't make no sence why it did what it did. Wanted to thank you all again for trying to help us with this problem! As Dennis Gage would say, "happy motoring" Thanks
That's going to be nice, like the color. .
